Description

Independence Excavating, a leading Cleveland area commercial construction company, seeks to fill the position of a Payroll Assistant. This position will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day payroll operations.

Main Functions

  • Collection, review, & processing weekly timesheets. Assist with the day-to-day operations.
  • Assisting Payroll Manager with certified payrolls, unions, and end-of-month reporting.
  • At times will be sole person responsible for PR in the absence of Payroll manager

Requirements

Education

  • High school diploma required
  • Some college courses in bookkeeping and office practices preferred

Experience

  • Two years experience in training.
  • Experience in developing training curriculum and courses.
  • Experience in presenting training materials to groups from 5 to 25 in size.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Must possess: the ability to juggle and prioritize tasks, analytical skill & attention to detail, as well as the ability to productively work in a fast paced environment.
  • Highly motivated and energetic personality
  • Ability to communicate with all levels within the company.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
