Cleveland Medical Mart And Convention Center Update

Heading into the fall season, the Cleveland Medical Mart and Convention Center is coming along with structural walls nearing completion and the steel structure arising on the new foundations. As more and more activity is packed into the downtown Cleveland site, Independence Excavating crews are right in the mix, working side by side with all of the various trades. With the demolition complete and the rest of the new structures and features of the new convention center underway, our earthwork crews are pressing ahead preparing foundations, drainage, subgrades, and even utilities in preparation for the steel to complete the new structure. Very quickly, the site is transforming from a mass demolition concrete and steel shell into a new downtown landmark.

As the project moves into the building phase with new features taking form each day, we appreciate the project team that we have had the privilege to work with since we hit the ground running in January. We would like to thank the Turner Construction project team, including John Dewine, John Ryfa, Marty Burgwinke, Nick Longone, Carlos Figueroa, Tricia Tatalick, Lyn Maniaci, Dave Gruver and Pete Mitnick, for the day to day efforts and coordination in propelling this project at the pace that it has maintained, as well as the Turner Construction home office support of Mark Dent and Joe Lazzaro. We also appreciate the efforts of the Medical Mart Properties personnel that we have had the privilege to work with, including Lloyd Davidson, Ryan Grommes, Tyrone Williams and Dave Johnson.

We look forward to the continued success of this project as the structure takes shape and are proud to be a part of the construction team on this exciting project.
