Co-Ops Cultivate Community Health with Food Strong

Cleveland, OH

This summer, our co-ops teamed up with Food Strong, a Cleveland nonprofit improving community health through urban farming, nutrition education, and youth programs.

In the weeks leading up to the big day, our co-ops were all in—walking the site, organizing materials, and preparing for a full day of hands-on impact. Huge thanks to Leppo Rents for providing a skid steer that helped us get the job done efficiently!

Here’s what they accomplished:

🌿 Built a 200-foot berm to reduce street noise and support native plants

🌱 Cleared vegetation, regraded the trail, and laid down fresh woodchips

🚽 Constructed a composting toilet outhouse with ventilation

🌞 Installed solar-powered fans for improved greenhouse airflow

🪴 Built and filled 15 raised garden beds with nutrient-rich topsoil

We’re proud of our co-ops for digging in—literally—and making a lasting impact in a space that’s growing health, opportunity, and connection.
