Summer co-op's fund raise to build playhouse for deserving family in our community

Cleveland, OH

Each summer DiGCo Digs Deep and our co-op team participate in a service project to assist a member of our community in need.

We reached out to a family friend at the Cleveland Clinic with hopes of serving a healthcare worker during these unprecedented times. She immediately identified a beloved co-worker, Ann, a nurse at the Main Campus, whose husband was recently diagnosed with ALS. As parents of 6-year-old twin boys, they immediately thought of their children and how they would love an outdoor playhouse.

Our hope was to bring some joy to this family during an already stressful time and give our co-op’s a sense of accomplishment, experience building for our community, and a genuine sense of making the world a better place than they found it.

They raised funds for the project materials by hosting a car wash and 50/50 raffle raising nearly $2,000! Every dollar raised directly funded building the playhouse for this deserving family.

Congratulations and thank you to our dedicated and hard-working co-ops for making this project a success!

“The miracle is not that we do this work, but that we are happy to do it.” Mother Teresa
