GE Healthcare Forge Expansion

The GE Healthcare Forge Expansion project encompassed a broad scope of work including site and building concrete, forge pit construction, site demolition, SWPPP implementation, utilities, earthwork, and pit excavation supported by a temporary earth retention system (SOE).

The project schedule was exceptionally tight from the outset, and one of the most significant challenges was the complex shoring and excavation system required for the forge pit. Success depended on careful coordination between excavation, shoring, and concrete crews to maintain safety and keep the project moving on schedule.

Two major mass concrete placements for the forge pit served as critical milestones. These pours required meticulous planning, continuous temperature monitoring, and strict quality control to achieve structural integrity and performance standards.

Throughout the project, the team navigated tight sequencing, limited work areas, and coordination among multiple trades, overcoming logistical and technical challenges without compromising safety or quality. The result was the on-time delivery of a high-quality, fully functional forge expansion that met all client requirements and project milestones.
