Augusta Regional Airport Hangar Ramp and Taxilane

Independence Excavating was contracted to complete the construction of a new concrete apron and taxilane at the Augusta Regional Airport. The project consisted of excavating 30,000 CY to subgrade, placing 4,200 tons of P154 subbase, paving 15,100 SY of 8” thick P304 cement treated base course and 14,180 SY of 10” thick slip form P501 concrete pavement.

Independence Excavating also performed all of the P306 and P501 concrete batching for this project. This new concrete apron allows for additional general aviation parking throughout the year and particularly for the annual PGA event in April.
